Yoganusasanam Day 1 – 07 December 2024

On 07 December 2024 – on what would have been Geetaji’s 80th birthday – a group of some 100 students and teachers gathered at the Institute in Pune for a very intimate Yoganusasanam… Intimate in several ways… 100 people in the yoga hall puts everyone in very close quarters, and intimate because the decision to hold it at the Institute rather than at a larger venue meant Abhijata was right there with us, within touching distance, as she roamed amongst the group.

 

 

On Day 1, we heard from several people about the origins of Yoganusasanam, what it meant to Geetaji, how delighted she’d be to know we still come together on her birthday. We also had stories and thoughts from people, such as Nawaz, who grew up with Geetaji.

 

Prashant and Sunita took the opportunity to announce the publication of two special books…

 

 

Geetanjali is a compilation of two special lectures given by Geetaji – her very first lecture at the Institute, in 1976, and her last lecture, in 2018, during Guruji’s centenary celebrations.
