Urdhva Dhanurasana with feet on a chair
I like this variation of Urdhva Dhanurasana because it challenges my arms more strongly than without a chair. It demands a lot of strength in my arms as I lift up (and on the way down!) which makes it more difficult to get up, but once I’m up, I feel so light. I also feel that having my feet elevated helps me to more easily lift my hips, engage my buttocks and hamstrings, and soften my abdomen. – Zhanna Zeleke, Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher
