Jane Munro, of Vancouver BC, is a dedicated yogi and noted poet. She has often been inspired by her studies at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune, India. Her reflections on these studies figure in her recently published memoir, Open Every Window (Douglas & McIntyre, 2021).
The excerpt below, which inspired the title of the memoir, describes Jane’s experience of a particular class with Geeta Iyengar in November 2011. It is an especially fitting story as we remember Geetaji at the anniversaries of her birth (07 December 1944) and her death (16 December 2018).

[A note: Shirley (Daventry French), Ann (Kilbertus), Louie (Ettling) and Linda (Shevloff), mentioned in the excerpt above, are all senior Iyengar yoga teachers in Victoria and Vancouver BC. The newsletter is that of the Iyengar Yoga Centre of Victoria.]
