Online with Prashant Iyengar – memories of his father’s teachings

Today, the 102nd anniversary of B.K.S. Iyengar’s birth, his son, Prashant Iyengar, shared with us some memories of his father’s teachings.

As always, Prashant was eloquent as he traced the evolution of his father’s teaching from the time of his studies and demonstrations with Krishnamacharya through his early days in Pune, to the intensive he taught for his 85th birthday.  Prashant mused on the many personal journeys his father took, from sickly child to man of boundless energy and vitality, from failed English scholar to author – in English – of multiple books on yoga and life, from yoga as the domain of ascetics to yoga for the world.

Namaste,
