Important Update re Membership Renewals for Teachers & Apprentices

We are pleased to announce an important change to our Certified Teacher (CT) and Apprentice Teacher (AT) membership renewal cycle.  This change will better align with the Association’s operations and provide added protection for members who participate in our group insurance program.

What’s changing?

Beginning this year, the CT and AT Association’s membership year will move from the current January 1–December 31 cycle to a July 1–June 30 cycle.

Why are we making this change?

There are two key reasons:

• Alignment with the Association’s fiscal year. The IYAC fiscal year operates from July 1 to June 30. Aligning membership with this schedule will simplify      administration and create greater consistency across the Association.
• Alignment with the group insurance renewal period. Members who participate in the Association’s group insurance program renew their insurance each July. In the past, memberships expired on December 31, creating the possibility that members who delayed renewing their membership could unintentionally lose eligibility for their insurance coverage. By aligning the membership and insurance renewal dates, we can help ensure continuous eligibility for members who participate in the group insurance program.

What does this mean for you?

To transition to the new schedule:

• You will not renew your membership on January 1^st 2027 this year.
• Instead, your current membership will be extended at no additional cost through June 30^th 2027.
• Your next membership renewal will be July 1st 2027 when the new      membership cycle officially begins.

This means all current Certified Teacher and Apprentice Teacher members will receive an additional six months of membership at no charge as we transition to the new renewal schedule.

We appreciate your support as we make this change. Aligning our membership and insurance renewal dates is an important step in improving our processes and helping ensure members who participate in the Association’s insurance program maintain continuous eligibility.
