Retreat in Costa Rica
February 23, 2024 - March 1, 2024
$1010
This retreat offers you the possibility of leaving behind your everyday life and coming together with other Iyengar yoga students for one week of yoga, on top of a mountain, in a quiet, self-sustaining Bhakti yoga ashram.
The retreat will be held at the Madhuvan Bhakti Yoga Ashram, a 150-acre center located on a mountaintop, near the seaside village of Samara, in Costa Rica. The ashram offers accommodation in small huts, furnished with two beds and a full bathroom. There is wifi at the ashram, which is otherwise isolated from nearby villages. The ashram serves vegetarian meals exclusively. At Madhuvan, this “Gem of Guanacaste”, all you hear are natural sounds: birds, insects, animals and the gentle conversation of the local community of yogis.
The retreat will start Friday, February 23, 2024, and end Friday, March 1st, 2024.
The retreat will consist of two daily practices, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The retreat is designed for participants with a minimum of 6 months of Iyengar yoga. Participants will have to bring their yoga props.
This is a small retreat, with 10 participants maximum (based on sharing a cabin with another participant). There are a few spots left.
In their free time, participants can go for walks on nature trails around the ashram, go swimming in a natural pool at the base of a small waterfall, go birdwatching around the ashram, or engage in their favorite hobby: knitting, crocheting, reading, journaling.
Suzanne Tremblay, CIYT, will teach the retreat. Suzanne, a former philosophy college instructor, opened the Westshore Metchosin Yoga Studio in 2013 and has been teaching Iyengar yoga for 13 years.
