Concentration is the fixing of the attention on a specific objective.

Abhijata Iyengar

On Day 2, Abhijata started the morning session taking questions from participants.

She talked about the importance of understanding what our objective is in any moment of yoga. She told the story of Guruji trying to do Kapotasana after he had injured his knee in a fall. He tried doing it on the chair, but couldn’t get his leg back under the chair. He called for help from Abhi and others but they were unsuccessful. Finally, he dispensed with the chair and simply did Kapotasana independently, unsupported. Abhi pointed out that, here, Guruji’s objective, his aim, was to do Kapotasana. He was not focussed on the knee, either healing it or accommodating it.
