A Gift of Yoga Classes for IYAC/ACYI Members
The past two years have been challenging. In our Canadian yoga world, many classes have been cancelled and studios closed while participants retreated into their own quiet spaces. To have a healthy, joyful yoga community, though, we need to come back together in the practice of yoga and the wisdom of the teachings. The IYAC/ACYI Board hopes to bring a spark of light and inspiration by offering a special series of yoga classes to our members.
We are delighted to present teacher Devki Desai, a dedicated student of Guruji and a teacher at the Ramamani Iyengar Yoga Institute in Pune, who will lead us in a series of five Sunday classes in May this year. These will be all-level, one-hour-long sessions on Zoom, free and available exclusively to members. There will be no recordings. We will do the classes together, at the same moment, right across the country.

On each of the five days of classes we hope to feature four different participants from regions far and wide in our vast community. If you or a member of your community is willing to be an on-screen student, please indicate it during the registration. Perhaps on any day of class we might see a student in the Yukon, Newfoundland and two locations in between and each week the participants could be different. Ideally, we will have a mix of every type of body, age and level. Please consider this as an opportunity for personal instruction from a leading teacher.

Participants, should have a yoga mat, 1 or 2 blocks, a strap, a chair and 3 blankets, but if you don’t have all of this, join anyway with the props you have available.
