Chris is the director of The Yoga Place in La Crosse WI. She has been studying the Iyengar method since 1978 and made her first trip to study in Pune, India, at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in 1980. Chris has been teaching regular classes and workshops since 1982. Since 1980, she has traveled to India to study with the Iyengar family on several occasions. While in India, she has attended general classes, intensives, and assisted in the medical classes.
This workshop is for experienced Iyengar Yoga teachers and students.

Weekend Workshop

He is Founder and Director of Kripa Centre in Mumbai, India. Kripa Centre now has over 40 branches treating recovering alcoholics and drug addicts throughout India and has become a successful model of recovery worldwide. Father Joe's teaching reflects his deep understanding of yoga, and his experience as a counselor and brings a special dimension to his work.

Three Day Workshop & Teacher Training

Linda Shevloff is a senior Canadian Iyengar yoga teacher, who has lived in Hong Kong since 1994. She has been active in the Iyengar Yoga Association of Canada (IYAC) since she started studying with Shirley Daventry French in Victoria in 1980. Linda is both the chair of IYAC's Professional Development Committee and a Canadian assessor. Over the past thirty years she has studied with the Iyengar family in Pune many times.
Linda is the Director of the Iyengar Yoga Centre of Hong Kong, from where she runs a large teacher training program. She also heads Teacher Training and Asesssments for the recently formed Iyengar Yoga Association of South East and East Asia (IYASEEA). Linda teaches with precision and inquisitiveness and enjoys sharing her passion for the subject of yoga.
Please bring your own equipment. Participants must have 2 years of Iyengar Yoga experience and must currently be enrolled in a class with an Iyengar teacher.

Seeing, Understanding, and Reflecting from the Base - Part 2

Stephanie Quirk worked as a psychiatric nurse and graduated from art school in her native New Zealand before beginning Iyengar yoga in 1987. She made her first trip to Pune in 1991 and, inspired by the Iyengars, returned several times. She eventually moved to Pune, and has spent many years studying daily at RIMYI and assisting in general and therapeutic classes.
Teachers who attended Part 1 have priority to attend Part 2, which Stephanie has stated is a mandatory prerequisite to the final 4 parts of the workshop. Stephanie is allowing people who missed year one to attend year two. After this, no new registrations will be allowed. Students who attended Part 1 should register for Part 2 by April 15, 2009.

Father Joe Pereira has been a direct student of B.K.S. Iyengar since 1968. He has taught yoga for twenty years and today is a renowned Sr. Iyengar yoga teacher. As a Jesuit Priest he worked very closely with Mother Teresa. Inspired by both Mother Teresa and B.K.S. Iyengar, Father Joe combined these two passions and developed the Kripa Foundation Iyengar Yoga, a recovery program for the chemically dependent. Today there are more than 30 centres across India.
Father Joe's workshops are based on the Iyengar yoga tradition of meditation, pranayama and alignment. He uses asana sequences with the integration of the twelve step program to bring awareness and light to his students. His workshops are inspirational, challenging and draw the student to look deeply within through yoga practice.

Ingelise Nherlan has studied Yoga for more than 30 years, and is recognized as one of Canada's leading teachers of the Iyengar method of yoga. Ingelise holds a Senior Intermediate teaching certificate awarded to her by her teacher, B.K.S. Iyengar, and continues her Yoga studies at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune, India. In addition to her regular teaching schedule, Ingelise travels across Canada certifying new Iyengar teachers. In her teaching, Ingelise's dedication to the physical detail and precision of yoga asanas combines with her keen awareness of the power of Yoga to forge an energizing and calming connection between mind, body, and spirit.
Participants should have at least one year of Iyengar yoga experience, and be comfortable using props with inversions.

She was awarded a Senior Intermediate III Teacher's Certificate from Mr. Iyengar in 1997. Ingelise's approach is inspiring and integrates the philosophy of yoga with the practical work of asanas and breathing in a way that is easy to understand. Her teaching style is energetic and thorough, with an emphasis on discovering the hidden engergies that lie dormant within the mind and body of all human beings. Ingelise teaches at the Room for Yoga Studio in Vancouver.
