Cynthia Palahniuk, Alberta
Cynthia Palahniuk (Intermediate Junior III) is in her 20th year of teaching Iyengar yoga in Calgary, and she has been training teachers for 14 of those years. She is the registrar and a teacher in the Iyengar Yoga Teacher Training Programme of Calgary (IYTTP) led by the community's senior-most teacher, Margot Kitchen. Cynthia has been traveling to India to study with the Iyengars since 1995. Her specialized training in therapeutic yoga includes extensive study with Marlene Mawhinney, as well as her studies with Stephanie Quirk and at RIMYI.
Along with her dedicated yoga studies, Cynthia has a B.Sc. in Kinesiology and a B.A. in Anthropology and Religious Studies. She brings a depth of yoga and body knowledge, compassion, enthusiasm, and humour to her teaching and she loves to share yoga with all levels of practitioner – from yoga teachers, athletes, and dancers to individuals with serious health issues or injuries – she believes yoga is truly for everyone!
